Following the signing ceremony, the "Hunan Changsha International Friendship City Youth Football Tournament" (September 21-26) was held, with the Gumi City middle school football team participating in friendly matches over six days.
The tournament featured eight teams in total: six teams from China, one team from Kagoshima, Japan, and one team from Gumi City, creating an arena for friendly competition and exchange.
Gumi City expects that this event will not only help the athletes improve their skills but also serve as an opportunity to broaden the scope of sports and cultural exchange.
Kim Jangho, Mayor of Gumi City, attended the tournament's opening ceremony and watched the Gumi City team's opening match.
Mayor Kim stated, "I believe this agreement and tournament will further deepen our friendship with Changsha. I hope this will be a valuable time for our youth to understand one another and build friendships through sports."
He added, "We will continue to make efforts to help our youth develop a global perspective through various exchange programs in the future."
