Gwangju Urban Corporation Holds Songpyeon Sharing Event for Chuseok

Gwangju Urban Corporation (President Kim Seungnam) held a special event on September 20, celebrating Chuseok by sharing warm moments with the elderly residents of the Usanbit Yeoulchae complex together with young activists.

This event was organized to foster warm intergenerational exchanges, with young people gathering to make Songpyeon with care and delivering them to the senior centers within the complex and nearby welfare centers, sharing the spirit of community.

After packaging the Songpyeon made that day, the young activists personally visited the senior centers and welfare centers to deliver them, also spending time in warm conversation and checking in on the well-being of the elderly. The seniors expressed their gratitude, saying, "Receiving Songpyeon made by young people who feel like grandchildren truly warms my heart."

On September 21, President Kim Seungnam stated, "This Songpyeon sharing event was a valuable opportunity to break down barriers between generations and share understanding and affection," adding, "We will continue to develop various exchange programs so that the local community can grow together."

Meanwhile, the Usanbit Yeoulchae young activists of Gwangju Urban Corporation continue to engage in a variety of activities for communication and harmony within the local community, and plan to carry out more community-based projects in the future, such as environmental clean-up activities.
