Hanam Awakens in Autumn with Festivals... 'Hanam Iseongsanseong Cultural Festival' to Be Held

The '2025 Hanam Iseongsanseong Cultural Festival,' a citizen-participatory cultural tourism festival hosted by Hanam City and organized by the Hanam Cultural Foundation, will take place for three days from September 26 to 28 at various locations including Hanam Iseongsanseong, Hanam Sports Complex, Hanam Arts Center, and Seokbadae Market.

Hanam City has promoted various festivals such as 'Music In The Hanam' with the goal of becoming a 'cultural city with citizens,' and this festival will focus on 'participation' as its core value, preparing a vibrant stage where more than 10,000 citizens and tourists can come together.

The eve event, which will signal the start of the festival, will be held on September 26 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Seokbadae Market. On this day, a special night market using yeopjeon (traditional brass coins) will be operated, allowing visitors to enjoy traditional market foods.

The stage will be hosted by broadcaster Cho Ingi, beginning with a performance by the Hanam Saxophone Club, followed by a children's dance contest and a citizen street singing contest. From 7:30 p.m., singers Kim Yongim and Gyuri will deliver celebratory performances, further enlivening the atmosphere. This eve event is expected to contribute to revitalizing the local economy and attracting tourists through performances and food offerings.

The main festival will officially begin on September 27. At Hanam Sports Complex, a closing ceremony for Citizen's Day Sports Festival will be followed by an opening celebration performance from 4:30 p.m. for 90 minutes. Tae Jinah, Jo Sungmo, and Gummy will take the stage with spectacular performances, and admission will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

On the same day at 6:30 p.m., the opening ceremony at Hanam Arts Center will begin with a touch performance symbolizing the light of Iseongsanseong, followed by the 'K-Fashion in Hanam' fashion show featuring citizen models. About 50 citizen models, selected through fierce competition and having completed approximately three months of professional training, will showcase a special performance on stage. The night will continue with a dazzling nighttime performance and DJ sets by 'This Is It' and 'New Jeansnim,' heating up the festival evening.

During the festival, Hanam Iseongsanseong will host a historical commentary program (advance reservation required, twice daily) and a stamp tour. Around Hanam Arts Center and the Sports Complex, there will be various experience booths for the whole family, including the 'Iseongsanseong Museum Outdoors' exhibition, AR experiences, traditional martial arts experiences, pony speed runs, Three Kingdoms era tattoos, traditional craft making, AI Samulnori, and wish lantern making.

On the final day of the festival, September 28, Hanam Arts Center will offer programs for families. At 12:30 p.m., balloon artist Shin Yongguk will perform a balloon art show, followed at 1:00 p.m. by the creative puppet play 'The Giant Turnip' presented by the puppet theater research group 'INS,' delivering both laughter and emotion to the audience.

Hanam Mayor Lee Hyunjae stated, "The 2025 Hanam Iseongsanseong Cultural Festival is a participatory festival where citizens take center stage, offering a special time for everyone to enjoy together at a site where history and culture are alive." He added, "Through this representative historical and cultural festival of Hanam, we aim to widely promote the charm of Hanam as a 'K-Culture hub city.'"
