Daegu City to Hire 22 Public Service Workers Including Cleaning Staff... No Residency Requirement, Applications Open to Seoul Metropolitan Area Residents

Daegu City will hold the "2025 2nd Recruitment Examination for Public Service Workers" to select public service workers who will work at the city hall and its affiliated offices.


This recruitment, conducted through the general selection process, will hire 14 cleaning staff, 5 water meter inspectors, 1 facility and equipment manager, 1 general assistant, and 1 field worker, focusing on 22 positions directly related to daily life services.

Separately, three cleaning staff will be hired through a special recruitment process for persons with disabilities, aiming to contribute to job stability for socially disadvantaged groups and to expand public sector employment.


Applicants must be at least 18 years old as of the announcement date (September 22, 2025), and under 60 years old as of the scheduled hiring date (January 2, 2026). However, for cleaning staff, which is considered an age-friendly position, applicants must be at least 55 and under 65 years old. There are no restrictions regarding place of residence or gender. Some positions require relevant educational background, certifications, or work experience.


Applications can be submitted in person or by registered mail from October 20 to October 22. For all general selection positions except the general assistant, applicants must also submit a "National Fitness 100" certificate (grades 1 to 3) issued by the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation at the time of application.


In the first stage, five times the number of available positions will be selected through document screening, and the final successful candidates will be determined through a second-stage interview. Those selected will begin working at the city hall or its affiliated offices starting January 2026.


Ahn Junggon, Director of the Administrative Bureau of Daegu City, stated, "Since this recruitment is to select personnel who will serve in areas closest to citizens' daily lives, we hope that many diligent and responsible individuals will apply," adding, "We will do our utmost to ensure that excellent talent is selected through a fair and transparent process."
