Yang Jonghee, Chairman of KB Financial Group, will meet with Bo Hines, CEO of Tether USAT, on the 22nd to discuss cooperation measures for stablecoins.
Tether USAT is the U.S.-focused subsidiary of Tether, the issuer of the world's largest stablecoin, USDT. CEO Bo Hines previously served as Executive Director of the Presidential Digital Asset Advisory Committee during the Trump administration. He was responsible for developing policies and regulatory frameworks for the digital asset industry in the U.S., including the enactment of the "Genius Act." On September 12, Tether announced that it would launch a new U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoin, "USAT," by the end of the year, fully compliant with the Genius Act, a U.S. dollar stablecoin regulatory bill.
On this day, Chairman Yang will meet with CEO Bo Hines to explore stablecoin business opportunities in response to changes in domestic and international digital asset regulatory environments. They will also seek ways to build a strategic partnership to strengthen the competitiveness of global digital financial services.
A representative from KB Financial Group stated, "This meeting is aimed at building a digital financial ecosystem that can respond to the global spread of stablecoins, safeguard our country's monetary sovereignty, and promote mutual growth with small business owners. We will continue to provide innovative digital financial services that contribute to revitalizing the real economy, in harmony with national-level digital currency policies."
