Congressman Kim Jongmin Meets Sejong Business Leaders to Discuss Strategies for Revitalizing the Construction Economy

Congressman Kim Jongmin met with over 20 business leaders from the construction industry in the Sejong region to share the difficulties faced by companies amid the construction market downturn and to discuss strategies for revitalizing the local economy.

The Sejong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (hereafter referred to as the Sejong Chamber) announced on the 20th that it held a meeting with Congressman Kim Jongmin on the 19th at a location in Naseong-dong.

This meeting was organized to listen to the challenges faced by the construction industry, such as the construction market downturn, rising material costs, labor shortages, and licensing issues, and to discuss various opinions on revitalizing the local economy and improving the business environment.

Kim Jindong, Chairman of the Sejong Chamber, stated, "Based on feedback from the field, we hope to improve the business environment for companies and inject vitality into the local economy. We ask for active support from the National Assembly as well."

In response, Congressman Kim Jongmin said, "The construction industry is the starting point for regional development and the foundation of all industries. I will actively reflect the voices from the industrial field in legislative activities and strengthen institutional support so that local construction companies can secure competitiveness."

The Construction Subcommittee of the Sejong Chamber was established in May to promote the development of the construction industry in the Sejong region and to enhance the rights and interests of its member companies. Ha Jongwoo, CEO of Saen General Construction, a local comprehensive construction company, was appointed as the first chairman.
