Body Found Abandoned in D4vd's Vehicle
Tattoo and Mother's Testimony Suggest Possible Romantic Relationship with D4vd
The discovery of a body in a vehicle registered to popular American singer-songwriter D4vd (real name David Anthony Burke, age 20) has caused shock, as it has been revealed that the deceased is a teenage girl who went missing last year, and there are indications that she was in a romantic relationship with D4vd.
On September 18 (local time), outlets such as the New York Post and ABC News, citing the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), reported that the severely damaged and decomposed body of a woman was recently found in a Tesla vehicle at a Hollywood impound lot.
The vehicle had been abandoned on a street in Hollywood and had been at the impound lot since September 5. It was registered under David's name and was reportedly used by multiple people.
The deceased has been identified as Celeste Rivas Hernandez, a 15-year-old girl who went missing in April of last year in Lake Elsinore, Riverside County, California. Notably, a tattoo on the victim's finger matched a design associated with D4vd, and it was revealed that, just before her disappearance, she had told her mother that she had a boyfriend named David. These details have strongly suggested the possibility that the two were in a relationship.
Additionally, online speculation has intensified as it has come to light that D4vd had worked on an unreleased track titled "Celeste," which shares the victim's name, and that there are photos circulating of D4vd with a person resembling the victim.
The police have not yet identified a suspect, and D4vd has not released an official statement. His agency stated only that he is "on tour but cooperating with the investigation." Although he initially planned to continue his North American tour after the incident, his Seattle performance has been canceled.
Born in 2005, D4vd is a next-generation singer-songwriter who has gained global popularity with tracks such as "Romantic Homicide" and "Here With Me." Both songs have garnered hundreds of millions of views on YouTube and have been widely used in Reels videos in Korea. He has strong ties to Korea, having held his first concert there in 2023, and in June of this year, he released a collaborative single with Hyunjin of the boy group Stray Kids.
The police are focusing their investigation on determining the exact cause of death, the relationship between D4vd and the victim, and the circumstances of the incident. Authorities are reportedly treating the case as a possible crime rather than a simple accident.
