[Breaking] "Trump and Xi Jinping Hold Phone Call After Over Three Months"

Amid the ongoing tariff war between the United States and China, U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping held a phone conversation on the 19th (local time) for the first time in about three months.

China's state-run media outlet People's Daily reported, "President Xi spoke with President Trump by phone," confirming the call.

This conversation followed the high-level U.S.-China trade negotiations held in Madrid, Spain, on the 14th and 15th, during which a broad agreement was reached regarding the handling of the U.S. operations of the Chinese video platform TikTok. The call is expected to address not only the TikTok issue but also tariffs, export controls on rare earth elements and semiconductors, and China's purchases of U.S. soybeans.
