Eastar Jet Completes Introduction of Three New B737-8 Aircraft

Two More Aircraft to Be Added by Year-End
Fleet to Reach 20 Aircraft

Eastar Jet is accelerating the modernization of its fleet by introducing new aircraft in rapid succession.

On September 19, Eastar Jet announced the introduction of its 18th aircraft. On the 16th, the company brought in its 16th and 17th aircraft simultaneously. The 19th aircraft is scheduled for introduction next month, followed by the 20th in December. By the end of the year, Eastar Jet will be operating a total of 20 aircraft.

The five aircraft being introduced this year are all brand-new B737-8 models with 189 seats, delivered to the airline directly from the manufacturer for the first time. Once the 20th aircraft is added, the proportion of new models (B737-8) in Eastar Jet’s fleet will expand to 50%, and the average age of the fleet will decrease to about seven years.

In particular, the B737-8 model is a high-efficiency, eco-friendly aircraft that offers approximately 20% improvements in fuel efficiency and carbon emissions compared to previous models. Eastar Jet plans to continue gradually modernizing its fleet to further reduce costs and enhance operational safety.

An Eastar Jet representative stated, "The aircraft introduced this month will be used to expand our route network, including deployment on routes scheduled to be transferred following the launch of the integrated airline. We will strengthen our cost competitiveness through improved fuel efficiency and provide customers with a more comfortable and quieter cabin environment offered by the B737-8 model."
