Under the Theme: "Today's Lifelong Learning, Opening the Future"
Namwon City in North Jeolla Province will hold the 21st Namwon City Lifelong Learning Achievement Presentation on September 26 at Sarangui Square, under the theme "Today's Lifelong Learning, Opening the Future."
According to the city on September 19, this event aims to vividly share the learning achievements accumulated over the past year with citizens and showcase talents on stage. It is Namwon City's representative lifelong education festival and is expected to be a meaningful occasion to celebrate and share the results achieved through collaboration among the public sector, private organizations, and academia.
On the day of the event, the program will begin with a poetry recitation of outstanding adult literacy works, followed by diverse performances from 14 lifelong learning performance teams who have honed their skills over the past year. In addition, more than 30 experience booths, an exhibition of over 50 works, and a photo zone for families to enjoy together will offer citizens a variety of enjoyable activities.
The experience booths will feature programs open to everyone, including French embroidery, calligraphy, ceramic art, photo printing, keyring making, food experiences, four-cut life photos, sewing machine experiences, and folk art. In particular, there will also be an activity where participants can design and decorate their own bags to express their individuality.
To further encourage citizen participation at the event, a range of activities are planned, including a pre-event promotional quiz, a stamp tour, and a satisfaction survey. Participants will have the chance to win mobile gift certificates through a raffle. Those who complete the stamp tour will receive tasting vouchers for food experiences (such as tteokbokki and strawberry latte) and an eco-friendly jute linen bag as a participation gift.
Meanwhile, as a special lecture program, the 169th Play Namwon Academy will be held at 10 a.m. on the outdoor stage at Sarangui Square. Professor Lim Seon Lee, a laughter therapist, has been invited to give a talk concert-style lecture on the topic "Laughter Ignites the Brain," discussing the effects of laughter on health. For more information, please visit the Namwon City Lifelong Learning Center website or contact the center directly.
Mayor Choi Kyungsik stated, "I hope this achievement presentation becomes a festival where citizens can share the fruits of their learning," adding, "We will do our utmost to ensure the event is thorough and fulfilling."
