Siheung City in Gyeonggi Province announced on September 19 that it received the grand prize in the general category at the "2025 Korea Healthy City Awards" during the regular general meeting of the Korea Healthy City Alliance, held at the Andong International Convention Center in North Gyeongsang Province on September 18. With this award, the city has now received this honor for seven consecutive years.

This award is given by the alliance after a comprehensive evaluation of outstanding healthy city policies and 92 healthy city indicators among 103 member cities nationwide.
This year, the city was recognized for its "Senior (Siheung Needs Elderly) Shining Life" initiative, which focused on promoting a healthy city through projects such as economic job creation, customized health management, and expanding opportunities for social communication. The city explained that it received high marks particularly for easing the social burden of entering an aging society and improving the health of the elderly through collaboration and partnerships with local resources.
Seungsam Park, Vice Mayor of Siheung City, stated, "We will continue to proactively respond to changes in the urban environment and pursue healthy city policies to improve the quality of life for our citizens."
