On September 19, SK Chemicals announced that it had conducted volunteer repair work at an educational facility for people with disabilities at the Yuldong Ecological Learning Center in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, as the first program of its "2025 VALUE Day."

VALUE Day is a newly designed ESG program by SK Chemicals this year. It is a social contribution initiative that supports the recovery and happiness of vulnerable groups in the local community, based on voluntary participation and leadership from its members.

The Yuldong Ecological Learning Center is a specialized vocational training facility for people with developmental disabilities. Through this activity, SK Chemicals helped ensure that the space would be safer and more conducive to rehabilitation.

About 30 people, including President Ahn Jaehyun and members of the SK Chemicals ECO Lab, participated in the activity. The team first installed fences along the outdoor garden paths within the learning center, both to protect plants and to ensure the safety of users as they walk.

They also carried out regular maintenance work by applying oil stain paint to three sections of wooden fences installed in the greenhouse and vinyl house. This maintenance is performed annually and is essential for maintaining the durability of the facilities, especially during the hot and humid rainy season.

Starting this year, SK Chemicals plans to expand the VALUE Day program to go beyond raising awareness about disabilities and to improve the living environments of people with disabilities through practical activities.

Ahn Jaehyun, President of SK Chemicals, stated, "To build a community where people with and without disabilities live together, we need ongoing understanding and action, not just one-time donations or events. Through this year's VALUE Day, we will continue ESG activities that spread a culture of problem-solving and mutual growth by practicing leadership, empathy, and solidarity through new forms of participatory activities."

Meanwhile, since 2013, SK Chemicals has consistently engaged in various social contribution activities, including supporting vulnerable groups, promoting eco-friendly initiatives, and raising awareness about disabilities. Over the past 12 years, employees have participated in more than 70,000 cumulative hours of volunteer work.
