Hwasun Jeonnam National University Hospital's Jeonnam Smoking Cessation Support Center announced on September 19 that it recently held the "2025 Know Your Vascular Numbers, Red Circle Campaign" at the Jeonnam Provincial Government Office to raise awareness about the importance of preventing cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and practicing smoking cessation.

This campaign was organized in conjunction with Jeonnam Province, the Jeonnam Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease Prevention and Management Project Support Group, and the Muan County Public Health Center in observance of Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease Prevention and Management Week.

The term "vascular numbers" refers to key indicators such as blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol levels. These must be managed to prevent cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, including myocardial infarction and stroke. During the event, participants received blood pressure and blood sugar measurements, as well as health consultations.

The Jeonnam Smoking Cessation Support Center also operated a dedicated health booth, offering lung capacity and carbon monoxide measurements. Both smokers and non-smokers were able to check their lung health, which highlighted the importance of smoking cessation and lifestyle management.

Choi Yuri, Director of the Jeonnam Smoking Cessation Support Center and Professor of Family Medicine at Hwasun Jeonnam National University Hospital, stated, "Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases are among the leading causes of death in the country, and improving lifestyle habits is key to prevention. I hope this campaign serves as an opportunity for people to manage their blood pressure and blood sugar, and to practice smoking cessation."
