- Addressing Automotive Cybersecurity Challenges with a Distinctive Solution: The Integrated Vehicle Security Pl
FESCARO presented its integrated vehicle security strategy for competitiveness in the Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) era at AutoSec China Week 2025, Asia's largest automotive cybersecurity conference.
AutoSec was held in Shanghai, China, from September 10 to 11. The event was attended by major government organizations such as the China Automotive Technology and Research Center (CATARC) and the China Automotive Engineering Research Institute (CAERI), as well as representatives from global vehicle manufacturers and controller developers, including Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis, Volkswagen, BYD, Geely, and Xpeng, who gathered to share the latest technologies and trends.
FESCARO addressed the challenges posed by cybersecurity regulations facing the industry. Automotive cybersecurity requirements are expanding worldwide, including in Europe (UN R155), South Korea (Automobile Management Act), and China (GB 44495-2024). While the specific requirements differ by regulation, they all commonly designate both products (vehicles) and organizations (supply chains) as security targets. In other words, the industry must strengthen cybersecurity throughout an average vehicle lifespan of 15 years, while also managing complex supply chains involving thousands of stakeholders.
Kim Inho, General Manager of FESCARO China Corporation, stated, "Fragmented responses at the component or function level make it difficult to maintain robust security and operational efficiency," and proposed an integrated strategy as a solution. The company introduced its 'integrated vehicle security platform,' which organically links security solutions specialized for electronic control units, gateways (SGW) that protect vehicle communications, and IT solutions for supply chain security. FESCARO also drew attention by showcasing real-world cases where global vehicle manufacturers successfully responded to European regulations (UN R155 and R156) using this platform, achieving advanced security and maximizing operational management efficiency.
General Manager Kim emphasized, "After participating in AutoSec three times, I have witnessed strong demand from the Chinese industry for efficient regulatory compliance solutions," adding, "We will actively expand our business in China based on our 'integrated vehicle security platform,' which has proven its standardization and effectiveness in Europe."
Last year, FESCARO signed a security solution supply contract with the Chinese semiconductor manufacturer Zhixin, and earlier this year, established its Chinese subsidiary to fully launch its local business. The company has since signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Yongyuan TC Group Innovation Center and entered into security solution supply contracts with controller developers, further strengthening its presence in the Chinese market.
