Director Oh Jungmin's "Jangson" Wins Best Picture at Buil Film Awards

Director Oh Jungmin's "Jangson" claimed the highest honor at this year's Buil Film Awards. At the 34th awards ceremony held on September 18 at Signiel Busan in Haeundae-gu, Busan, the film won Best Picture. Recognized for its meticulous storytelling and direction, it outshone the other nominees: "What Does Nature Say to You," "Seagulls at the Morning Sea," "War," and "Harbin."

The film tells the story of a family that appears harmonious on the surface but harbors deep, private wounds. As small cracks begin to form over trivial matters, long-held secrets are revealed, prompting the question of what truly defines a family.

The Best Actor award went to Lee Byunghun for "The Match," while Kim Goeun won Best Actress for "Love in the Big City." The Best Director award was given to Hwang Byungguk for "Opposition Party."

Choi Hyunjin of "After Summer" and Lee Hyeri of "Victory" received the Best New Actor and Best New Actress awards, respectively. "Seagulls at the Morning Sea" saw Yang Heekyung win Best Supporting Actress and director Park Iwoong win Best Screenplay, placing the film among the top honorees. The Best Supporting Actor award went to Park Jungmin for "War."

In the staff categories, Park Jungwoo of "Harbin" won the Art and Technical Award for lighting, Kim Junseok of "High Five" received the Best Music award, and Hong Kyungpyo of "Harbin" was honored with the Best Cinematography award.
