Gijang County (Governor Jung Jongbok) announced on September 18 that the Gijang County Citizens Football Club has recently achieved five consecutive league wins, officially entering the competition for the top ranks.
On September 14, in the 26th round of the '2025 K4 League' held at Sosabeol Sports Town in Pyeongtaek, the Gijang County Citizens Football Club secured a come-from-behind victory over Pyeongtaek Citizen FC with a score of 2-1.
Although the team conceded the first goal to Pyeongtaek in the 44th minute of the first half and had a difficult start, they launched a counterattack in the second half. Lee Junghoon scored in the 74th minute, followed by Shin Yunho in the 87th minute, completing a thrilling victory with consecutive goals.
With this win, the club recorded its 12th victory of the season and achieved five consecutive league wins, laying the foundation for advancing to the top ranks. The team will play a home match against Jinju Citizen Football Club at 2 p.m. on September 28 at Jeonggwan Sports Healing Park, aiming for a sixth straight win and to solidify their position among the leaders.
Governor Jung Jongbok stated, "This was a valuable victory achieved through the players' fighting spirit and concentration," and added, "I hope the team will continue to grow and shine the name of Gijang County with the support of our citizens."
The Gijang County Citizens Football Club will represent Busan in the '106th National Sports Festival' to be held in October. Their first match is scheduled for 10 a.m. on October 18 at the Gijang World Cup Village Natural Grass A Stadium, where they will face the Seoul representative, Seoul Jungnang Football Club.
