Plan to Expand Recruitment of Young Talent
Opening SK Group’s Educational Infrastructure
SK Group is recruiting young talent to lead the era of artificial intelligence (AI). By the end of December, the group plans to hire about 4,000 people, similar to the number hired in the first half of the year, bringing the total to approximately 8,000 new recruits. At the same time, SK Group will strengthen educational support to foster practical, work-ready young professionals.
A merged entity of SK Innovation and SK E&S, with assets totaling 105 trillion won (as of the first half of this year), has officially launched. After announcing the merger in July, the preparation process was completed over about three months, establishing the largest private energy company in the Asia-Pacific region. On the 18th, SK Group announced that each affiliate will be hiring in fields such as research and development (R&D), AI, and technology development. The primary targets are domestic and international science and engineering talent who will join SK Group’s efforts to strengthen its competitiveness in AI, semiconductors, and digital transformation (DT).
SK Hynix will be recruiting new employees for the second half of the year from the 22nd to the 1st of next month. The company plans to select and hire talented individuals to join its expanding AI semiconductor business in areas such as semiconductor design, devices, R&D, and mass production technology. At the Yongin semiconductor cluster, which is under construction and scheduled to begin operations in the first half of 2027, thousands of new hires are planned. In addition, as next-generation DRAM production capacity is expanded at the Cheongju Campus M15, SK Hynix’s recruitment activities are expected to increase in the future.
SK Group is also opening its educational infrastructure to young talent. The group’s in-house education platform, mySUNI, offers the "SUNIC" program, which brings together university students, experts, and company employees. In this program, students share their questions and concerns about practical work with experts and employees, working together to find solutions. Four cohorts have completed the program so far, and this year, the curriculum has focused on AI and semiconductors, which are popular fields among young job seekers.
In addition, SK Group plans to continue investing in programs that enhance the capabilities of young professionals, such as SK Hynix’s basic semiconductor job training "Hy-Po (Youth Hy-Po)", SK Telecom’s AI development theory and practical training "FLY AI Challenger", and SK AX’s AI developer training program "SKALA".
