According to the county on the 18th, this event is designed as a sports and tourism convergence program that brings together local residents and visitors in conjunction with the Hanwoo & Apple Festival. The event is organized by Rock & Run, a trail race company based in Jangsu, led by CEO Kim Youngrok.

The race is divided into three sections themed around Jangsu’s signature red foods: a 5 km Omija course, a 10 km Tomato course, and a 16 km Apple course. A total of approximately 300 participants (270 runners and 30 staff members) are expected to take part.

The race will start sequentially from the Jangsu Horse History Experience Center beginning at 7:30 a.m. Participants must complete the course within a three-hour time limit. Race bibs, finisher medals, bandanas, and digital certificates will be provided as souvenirs.

On the day of the event, not only the running race but also a flea market, local brand booths, and citizen exchange programs linked to the Hanwoo & Apple Festival will be held, creating a vibrant festival atmosphere for both participants and visitors to enjoy.

County Governor Choi Hunsik stated, "The Red Food Race is a special program where people can enjoy both the natural beauty and specialty products of Jangsu. It will be a festival that brings together residents and tourists," adding, "We will continue to energize Jangsu by developing various programs that combine sports and tourism."

Meanwhile, the Equestrian Road, which will host this event, was originally an unpaved road used for outdoor horseback riding. Last year, about 2,000 Metasequoia trees were planted, transforming it into the nation’s longest walking trail. This Red Food Race marks the first time it will be used as a trail race course, and it is expected to become a new landmark in Jangsu.
