Strengthening Gumi's brand value amid the K-experience tourism boom
Gumi City in North Gyeongsang Province is partnering with KORAIL Tourism Development (CEO Kwon Baeksin) to launch the "KTX-Linked Industrial Culture Tour (Gumi Science Train)" starting September 26, 2025 (Friday). The tour will run a total of five times-on September 26, October 31, and November 7-with two overnight trips scheduled for October 31 to November 1 and November 7 to 8.
The main itinerary includes visits to the Nongshim Gumi Plant, Samsung Electronics Gumi Smart City, the first Kyochon Chicken store in Korea, and Saemaeul Central Market, allowing participants to experience industry, culture, and local cuisine all at once.
In particular, the tour departing on November 7 is linked to the "Gumi City Ramen Festival" (November 7-9), which has gained widespread popularity across the country. This schedule will offer special experiences such as tasting freshly fried ramen and unique ramen varieties. Participants can enjoy both industrial tours and the excitement of the festival.
Kim Jangho, Mayor of Gumi, stated, "Recently, due to the K-Pop Demon Hunters phenomenon, K-experience tourism has gained tremendous popularity," adding, "Through this tour, both domestic and international tourists will be able to vividly experience Gumi's industrial modernization and culture."
He further emphasized, "We will continue to enhance Gumi's brand value as a cultural city where tourism and industry coexist."
