Incheon City and the Incheon Tourism Organization will hold the "2nd Incheon Traditional Market Mobile Stamp Tour" from September 18 to October 30 to widely promote the appeal of traditional markets and revitalize the local economy.
This stamp tour will feature a total of eight traditional markets, including Ganghwa Pungmul Market, Sinpo International Market, Hyundai Market, Songdo Station Market, Okr yeon Traditional Market, Jakjeon Market, Gyesan Market, and Gyeyangsan Traditional Market. By linking traditional markets with local tourist attractions, the event will offer a variety of entertainment options and shopping benefits.
The stamp tour operates through the "Incheon e-Z" app, where participants collect stamps by visiting region-specific and theme-based courses. Upon completing each course, a traditional market consumption coupon worth 5,000 won is instantly issued through the app. Participants who complete all eight courses can receive benefits of up to 40,000 won.
Additionally, the first participants to complete all courses will receive an extra coupon worth 20,000 won. The discount coupons can be used immediately at over 160 affiliated stores within the eight traditional markets when making on-site payments.
The city supports multilingual services in English, Chinese, and Japanese, making it easy for foreign tourists to participate. In addition, those under the age of 14 can also use the "Incheon e-Z" app, so the event is expected to be a family-friendly autumn outing.
The first stamp tour, which began on July 18 and was scheduled to run until the end of this month, ended early on August 16 due to the high demand and the early depletion of prepared coupons. The event saw participation from over 8,800 citizens and tourists, including foreigners, contributing to the revitalization of traditional markets in a short period.
An official from Incheon City stated, "This second stamp tour is an opportunity to experience the abundant charm of traditional markets in the autumn season," adding, "We will actively support the event so that many citizens and tourists visit the traditional markets and help restore vitality to the local commercial districts by combining consumption and tourism."
