Held at the Nonggeori Festival Grounds in Cheongil-myeon
The 12th Hoengseong Deodeok Festival, the only local festival in the country themed around "deodeok," will take place over three days from September 19 to 21, 2025, in the pristine natural surroundings of the Nonggeori Festival Grounds in Cheongil-myeon.
This year's festival, held under the theme "Delicious Deodeok, Joyful Festival, Exciting Cheongil," will showcase a variety of foods and entertainment centered on deodeok, Hoengseong’s signature specialty. Deodeok is especially valued as a health food due to its high saponin content, which is known to help boost immunity, relieve fatigue, and support respiratory health.
Festival-goers can enjoy a range of programs, including hands-on deodeok cooking experiences using one of Hoengseong’s eight premium products, a local agricultural products market, youth band performances, and special guest singer stages.
In particular, the finals of the 2nd National Band Competition, set against a backdrop of blooming cosmos flowers, will feature nine teams selected from across the country in a heated contest. This competition, which has expanded from last year’s 1st Gangwon Band Competition to a national scale, is expected to deliver high-caliber performances. In addition, special performances by last year’s winning team, the Haevichi Band, and the widely popular Charlie Jung Band will further heighten the excitement of the festival.
