Sancheong County Wins Gyeongsangnam-do Civil Defense Practical Skills Competition

Awarded at the Civil Defense Corps Founding Ceremony

Sancheong County announced on September 18 that it received a governor's commendation after winning the Gyeongsangnam-do Civil Defense Practical Skills Competition.

According to Sancheong County, it took first place in the general categories of gas mask wearing and cardiopulmonary resuscitation at the 14th Gyeongsangnam-do Civil Defense Practical Skills Competition held in July.

As a result, the county received a governor's commendation for its achievements in civil defense work at the "50th Anniversary Civil Defense Corps Founding Ceremony" held at the Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Government auditorium.

Lee Seunghwa, the governor of Sancheong County, said, "I am always grateful to the civil defense members who take the lead in ensuring the safety of our community," and added, "I hope you will continue to help create a society where our residents can feel safe."

Meanwhile, the Civil Defense Corps Founding Ceremony was organized to honor the dedication of civil defense members who have worked tirelessly to prevent and respond to disasters and emergencies, and to inspire a sense of duty and pride.

The ceremony began with the entrance of flag bearers from 18 cities and counties, followed by awards for distinguished service and the practical skills competition, a reading of the civil defense creed, a cardiopulmonary resuscitation performance, a video presentation on the history of civil defense, a civil defense advancement performance, and a group singing of the civil defense song.
