On September 18, Gangbuk District in Seoul (District Mayor Lee Soonhee) announced that it will conduct a pilot operation of the screen park golf course, established on the first basement level of the Gangbuk Comprehensive Sports Center, from September 22 to October 31 in order to expand its sports infrastructure for everyday life.

Although demand for park golf has been steadily increasing, Gangbuk District has faced difficulties in securing outdoor sites due to its high ratio of parks and green spaces. In response, the district utilized unused indoor space to create a screen park golf course equipped with two open hitting bays and a lounge area.

The pilot operation will be divided into two phases: the first from September 22 to 30, and the second from October 10 to 31. The facility will operate three sessions per day on weekdays, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Each session lasts 1 hour and 50 minutes and includes safety training, instruction on basic posture and rules, practice games, and a 9-hole match. The facility will be closed on weekends and public holidays.

During this period, Gangbuk residents can use the facility free of charge, with 3 to 4 people able to participate per hitting bay. Reservations can be made by visiting the Gangbuk Comprehensive Sports Center with an ID card or a copy of the resident registration. On-site registration for the first phase of the pilot operation is currently underway, and reservations for the second phase will be available starting September 25.

The district plans to use this pilot operation to review its management methods and facility conditions, and to officially open the course on November 1. After the official opening, advance reservations will be available on the center's website, with priority given to district residents. The usage fee will be 3,000 won per Gangbuk resident and 5,000 won for non-residents. Operating hours will also be extended from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Lee Soonhee, Mayor of Gangbuk District, stated, "The screen park golf course is a recreational sports facility that anyone, regardless of age or gender, can enjoy regardless of the weather. We will continue to expand various sports infrastructure to promote residents' health and leisure activities."
