Omission of Allergen Warning Required by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety
Paris Croissant announced on September 18 that it has identified a missing allergy warning on its "Dried Persimmon Pound Cake" produced at the Daegu factory, and will suspend sales and initiate a recall of the product.
The product contains pine nuts, which are among the allergens required to be indicated. While pine nuts were listed in the ingredients section, they were omitted from the allergen warning section as mandated by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. The company explained that there are no issues with the safety or quality of the product ingredients themselves.
In accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, Paris Croissant will offer full refunds for the recalled products through its customer service center starting September 18. The company also plans to immediately update the allergy warning on the product.
A Paris Croissant representative stated, "We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and concern this has caused," and added, "We will take even greater care in managing product labeling going forward."
