This exhibition was organized as part of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's "Exclusive Artist System Support Project," which aims to support artists' creative activities and assist galleries in discovering and nurturing promising talent. Of the 255 artists supported by the 2025 Exclusive Artist System, a total of 68 works by Kim Yunyeong (PS Center), Kim Jimin (Sangup Gallery), Park Yena (Jeanne), Shin Min (P21), Lee Haeminsun (Whistle), Jung Yujin (Sanghieut), Jung Jaeyeon (Gallery The C), Jo Isop (Shower), Choi Suryeon (Gallery Chosun), and Choi Yunhee (Zigallery) were showcased.
The exhibition was held at Bukchon Hanok and Huigyeomjae, venues frequently visited by international guests, which attracted significant attention from overseas visitors. Patrick Kelly, Chief Operating Officer of Culture Shock, who attended the exhibition, commented, "Experiencing art in Korea's historical spaces, rather than in a massive museum, is truly special. Meeting artists in a 120-year-old house offers a different meaning compared to seeing them in a large museum." Lily Hollein, Director of Vienna's MAK Museum, remarked, "Encountering the works of ten Korean artists in a traditional setting provides a new perspective and an opportunity for exploration, especially for first-time visitors to Korea."
Ten global curators participated in the exhibition, engaging in dialogues with individual artists about their artistic worlds. Notable art world figures included Bettina Sch?fer (Vienna Secession Museum), ?zge Ersoy (Asia Art Archive, Hong Kong), Jody Graf (MoMA PS1), Kerson Cheng (PODIUM, Hong Kong), and Mark Rappolt (Editor-in-Chief, ArtReview). Their English essays will be published in the exhibition catalog to promote the event internationally. The catalog can be found on the Arts Management Support Center website.
Through the Director Networking Program, the potential for Korean galleries to expand internationally was explored. David Field (former Sutton Director and Art Dubai Marketing Advisor) stated, "I highly appreciate the program's efforts to understand the art ecosystem and effectively match global curators with artists. The Excellent Exclusive Writers Planning Exhibition has now established itself as the premier platform for discovering Korea's most important young artists."
Park Jiin, Director of PS Center, said, "This exhibition prioritized highlighting the artists, and thanks to those efforts, there has been a noticeable increase in purchase inquiries for Kim Yunyeong's works since the opening." Park Sujan, Director of Jeanne, commented, "Park Yena's works were successfully installed in the Hanok, providing an excellent opportunity to broaden the artist's horizons."
Kim Jangho, Director of the Arts Management Support Center, stated, "We are making every effort to ensure that international guests do more than simply view the exhibition-they are able to understand the context of the artists and their works. We will spare no effort in providing full support for the artists who will lead the future of K-Art."
