Hong's film "Monstro Obscura" is a short film based on a unique logline: "Seoul, 1996. Wastewater from developing film is dumped into the sewers. From this wastewater, a monster awakens, and the countless movies on the film become its memories. The monster wanders the city, carrying the vanished past with it."

The Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival jury praised the film as "a work that breaks away from traditional narrative and showcases original cinematic experimentation."

The Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival, founded in 1968, is the world's largest festival dedicated to the fantastic genre.

This year's festival will also feature works by renowned directors such as Guillermo del Toro, Yorgos Lanthimos, and Park Chanwook.

Song Yejin, head of the Department of Film and Visual Arts, stated, "This achievement demonstrates that our students' experimental spirit is being recognized at international film festivals," adding, "We will continue to provide full support so that our students can take on the global stage."
