Busan to Host 'Seven Bridge' Tour on September 21
3,000 Domestic and International Riders to Promote the City's Brand

The 'Seven Bridge Tour,' the world's largest and first-ever urban bicycle festival to traverse four sea bridges, will take place in Busan.

The Busan Metropolitan Government (Mayor Park Hyungjoon) announced on the 17th that the '2025 Seven Bridge Tour: Riding in Busan,' the world's largest urban sea bridge cycling festival, will be held across the city on the 21st.

This event, the first of its kind to connect four urban sea bridges, will see 3,000 domestic and international riders participate, promoting Busan's image as a city of sports and tourism to the world.

Participants, according to their pre-registration, can choose between the 77km 'Chilchil Course' for advanced cyclists and the 33km 'Samsam Course' for beginners and intermediate riders, enjoying Busan's scenic views along the way. The routes include major sea bridges such as Gwangandaegyo, Busan Harbor Bridge, Namhangdaegyo, and Eulsukdodaegyo, as well as coastal roads and the Nakdong River. On the day of the event, participants will gather at BEXCO at 5:45 a.m. and move as a group for a pre-ride up to the upper deck of Gwangandaegyo. For safety reasons, individual access will not be permitted.

The city has prioritized safety as the top concern to develop this event into a world-class sports and tourism attraction. On the 16th, a final safety review was conducted, presided over by Mayor Park Hyungjoon, with representatives from the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency, Korea Coast Guard, Fire and Disaster Headquarters, Facilities Management Corporation, Sports Council, Cycling Federation, Festival Organizing Committee, and the seven district offices along the course in attendance. Key topics discussed included road repairs, installation of bridge expansion joint covers, cleaning of all road surfaces, tunnel air quality management, and establishing detour routes for buses.

On the day of the event, focused safety management will be implemented at designated points such as the upper deck of Gwangandaegyo, the entrance to Cheonma Tunnel, the rotary ramp of Busan Harbor Bridge, and the Yeongdo local road. Over 1,000 police officers, firefighters, and professional security and safety personnel will be deployed along the entire course, and ambulances and rescue personnel will be on standby at the Busan Harbor Bridge rotary ramp. There will also be 15 ambulances, about 40 medical staff, and a disaster hub hospital network in place.

The city is also working to minimize inconvenience caused by traffic controls. On the day of the event, the course will be fully or partially restricted, but traffic will be gradually reopened after the cycling groups pass. Advance publicity and on-site guidance will be strengthened for citizens using freight vehicles and public transportation.

Mayor Park Hyungjoon emphasized, "This is a unique cycling event across Busan's world-renowned sea, and it will grow into a festival that showcases Busan's distinctive charm to the world, beyond just a sporting event."
