The Daejeon Yeonjeong Korean Traditional Music Orchestra will tour four European countries-Croatia, Bosnia, Sweden, and Germany-to showcase the charm of Korean traditional music.

From September 18 to October 4, the Daejeon Yeonjeong Korean Traditional Music Orchestra will tour these four European countries, serving as a cultural delegation representing Daejeon and introducing the allure of Korean traditional music to local audiences.

This tour has been organized at the invitation of the Korean embassies and consulates general in each country. The orchestra will perform at the following venues: ZKM in Zagreb, Croatia on September 21; BKC in Sarajevo, Bosnia on September 23; Konserthuset in Stockholm, Sweden on September 26; Alte Oper in Frankfurt, Germany on September 30; and Orchesterzentrum NRW in Dortmund on October 2.

The program features traditional Korean song, dance, and music that highlight the beauty of Korean heritage, as well as contemporary reinterpretations through creative Korean orchestral pieces. By sharing the depth and appeal of Korean traditional music with European audiences, the orchestra aims to promote Daejeon as a city of culture and the arts and to expand opportunities for international cultural exchange.

In particular, the Sarajevo performance in Bosnia holds special significance as it is an official event selected by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to commemorate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Additionally, the performance in Frankfurt, Germany, a city that has maintained a close friendship and active cooperation with Daejeon for over 20 years in various fields such as culture, education, and the economy, is expected to further deepen the friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries.

Furthermore, the concerts in Stockholm and Dortmund will be held in conjunction with Korea's National Day celebrations, drawing attention as platforms for cultural diplomacy through Korean traditional music.

A representative from the Daejeon Yeonjeong Korean Traditional Music Orchestra stated, "We are delighted to present our unique art form of Korean traditional music on the European stage," adding, "Through successful performances, we aim to globalize Korean traditional music and enhance Daejeon's cultural presence."
