Hapcheon County Confirms Next Year's Disaster Prevention Projects ... 24 Zones to Be Implemented

Project Expansion Worth 486.3 Billion Won Including Five New Zones
Accelerating the Enhancement of Safety Infrastructure

Hapcheon County in South Gyeongsang Province will implement disaster prevention projects in 2026, covering a total of 24 zones with a budget of 486.3 billion won.

The finalized list of disaster prevention projects by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety includes five newly designated zones across four major areas: comprehensive maintenance of flood and storm-prone zones, improvement of natural disaster risk areas, stabilization of steep slope collapse risk areas, and maintenance of disaster-prone reservoirs.

The newly designated zones are: Jukgo Zone (flood and storm-prone area), Andong Keungol Zone (natural disaster risk improvement area), Angjin N1 and Dumo N1 Zones (steep slopes), and Samgok Zone (disaster-prone reservoir). These projects are expected to accelerate the expansion of infrastructure for the safety of local residents.

In 2026, a total of 44.1 billion won will be invested, including national, provincial, and county funds. In addition, the remaining project budget of 249.7 billion won, excluding the 192.5 billion won already invested, will be executed sequentially. Of the total 45.9 billion won allocated for new projects in 2026, an additional 34.4 billion won in national and provincial funds has been secured.

Hapcheon County expects the confirmation of new disaster prevention projects to yield three major benefits: alleviating the fiscal burden by securing national and provincial funds, strengthening the safety net for residents, and revitalizing the local economy through project implementation.

A county official stated, "As a large number of new projects have been included through ongoing consultations with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, we will accelerate project implementation to create a safe living environment for our residents."
