Theory and Hands-on Training Combined at the Central Region Agricultural Machinery Rental Office
Enhancing Safety and Improving Operating Skills Expected
Hamyang County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on September 17 that it conducted both theoretical training and hands-on practice on the functions and operation of small agricultural excavators for 15 new farmers and rural migrants residing at the Residential Agricultural Support Center, held at the agricultural machinery training center of the Central Region Agricultural Machinery Rental Office.
This training is a mandatory course for farmers wishing to rent excavators. It included instruction on the structure and functions of excavators, case-based education on accident prevention, and practical training to improve actual operating skills.
In the morning, a theoretical lecture on the structure and functions of excavators was held, with a particular emphasis on safety rules by focusing on accident cases that may occur during operation, raising trainees’ awareness of safety.
In the afternoon, the role of the agricultural machinery rental office and methods for utilizing the available machinery were introduced. This was followed by hands-on training in which trainees drove excavators themselves in the practice field to acquire driving and operating skills. In addition, trainees practiced loading and unloading using ladders, which carry a high risk of accidents, to gain practical experience.
An official from the county stated, "Recently, there has been an increase in accidents and machinery damage caused by the carelessness of agricultural machinery users, making safety training even more important. Farmers who complete this training will be granted qualification to rent small agricultural excavators. We will continue to provide ongoing training to prevent agricultural machinery accidents and support the development of professional personnel."
