This year’s HLMHE is an international health summit co-hosted by the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and the Ministry of Health and Welfare, taking place over two days, September 15 and 16, under the theme “Universal Health Coverage for a Sustainable Tomorrow.” Lunit was the only Korean company selected to independently host a side event, where it conducted a session on “AI-Based Cancer Diagnosis and Precision Medicine.”

The session offered an in-depth discussion on the strategic value and innovative potential of medical AI throughout the entire cancer care continuum, from diagnosis to treatment. In particular, CEO Beomseok Seo delivered the keynote address, highlighting the promotion of innovation through public-private partnership models, real-world applications in national health programs, and the proven reliability and global scalability demonstrated by locally tailored development strategies and research outcomes. He also presented a vision for the future direction of global medical innovation.

Following this, WBS 2025, scheduled for September 17, is the largest health event organized by the Korean government, co-hosted by the World Health Organization and the Ministry of Health and Welfare. This year, its scale and significance have been further expanded by its connection to the APEC HLMHE event. WBS 2025 will bring together a large number of global health leaders, including Philippe Duneton, Executive Director of Unitaid; Park Joomin, Chairman of the National Assembly Health and Welfare Committee; Jeong Eun-kyeong, Minister of Health and Welfare of Korea; health ministers and leadership from various countries; ambassadors to Korea; and representatives from international organizations and research institutions. Notably, during the WBS 2025 opening ceremony, CEO Seo will serve as chair, leading discussions with the Executive Director of Unitaid, the Assistant Secretary of the Australian Department of Health, the President of Johnson & Johnson North Asia, and others on global health cooperation and the future vision of medical AI.

Beomseok Seo, CEO of Lunit, stated, “APEC HLMHE and WBS 2025 are international summits that determine the direction of global health policy and innovation. Lunit will continue striving to create public value through medical AI and to contribute to the universal challenges of conquering cancer and achieving health equity for all humanity.”
