Conversation with Over 100 Citizens at Gwangmyeongsageori
"We Will Build a Better City by Reflecting Citizens' Opinions"
Park Seungwon, mayor of Gwangmyeong City in Gyeonggi Province, drew attention by meeting with commuters after work to communicate directly on-site and act as a troubleshooter for civil complaints.
On the evening of the 15th at 6:30 p.m., Mayor Park held the "On-the-Go Conversation with Citizens - Let's Meet After Work!" event at the resting area of Gwangmyeongsageori Station on Subway Line 7, where he engaged with about 100 commuters.

This event was organized to hear opinions from a diverse range of citizens, including office workers, students, and young people, who had difficulty attending the previous "Conversation with Citizens" sessions held during weekday daytime hours.
At the site, a variety of civil complaints were raised, including transportation issues, expansion of infrastructure, and damages caused by redevelopment projects. In response to a local resident's suggestion to replace the bus stop in front of an apartment complex with a smart bus stop, Mayor Park said he would check with the relevant department and replied, "The installation requirements are sufficient, so we will proceed immediately."
During the event, citizens proposed a range of issues including improvements to septic tank cleaning, installation of crosswalks for residents in redevelopment areas, establishment of a shared kitchen in the former Gwangmyeong 3-dong office building, traffic measures, road paving, and strengthening flood prevention measures. Mayor Park responded that he would take action after legal, administrative, and departmental reviews.
Mayor Park stated, "We will carefully review the opinions raised in areas closely related to daily life, such as transportation, housing, environment, and welfare, reflect them in city administration, and do our best to resolve citizens' inconveniences."
Starting with this event, Mayor Park plans to continue the "On-the-Go Conversation with Citizens" at the Cheolsan Commercial District Round Plaza (September 26), Muigong Meeting Plaza (September 29), and Hannaecheon Round Plaza (October 13).
