On September 14, the official Police Agency YouTube channel uploaded a video titled "A Truck Discovered During Patrol, the Fine Amounts to a Whopping 440 Million Won." According to the video, Police Captain Bae Eun-gyu of the Samsan District Unit at Ulsan Nambu Police Station was conducting a routine safety patrol when he noticed a suspicious truck and checked the vehicle owner’s information. It was revealed that the driver had previously been sentenced to pay a fine of 440 million won and was wanted for failing to pay.

Captain Bae Eun-gyu, who discovered the truck, recalled, "At first, I thought the fine was 4.4 million won, but upon closer inspection, it was actually 440 million won." The police determined that there was a risk the driver might attempt to flee, so instead of stopping the vehicle immediately, they followed it. When the truck stopped at a traffic signal, the officer approached the passenger side, obtained the driver’s consent, got into the passenger seat, and proceeded to verify the driver’s identity.

The identity check confirmed that the driver was indeed the wanted individual. The police then guided the vehicle to a safe location and successfully apprehended the suspect.

Upon hearing the news, online commenters expressed their astonishment, saying, "How many violations does it take to rack up a 440 million won fine?" and "How can a simple fine be higher than a terrorist bounty?" On the other hand, some criticized the situation, commenting, "It's disappointing that the arrest happened by chance through a vehicle check rather than through active pursuit," and "How is it possible that someone with a fine exceeding 400 million won is driving on public roads?"
