Siwoo Kim has risen to world ranking 59.
In the men's golf weekly world ranking announced on September 14 (local time), Kim earned 2.06 points and climbed six spots from 65th place last week. He accumulated points by tying for 5th place at the DP World Tour BMW PGA Championship (total prize money of 9 million dollars), which concluded that day at Wentworth Golf Club (par 72) in Surrey, near London, United Kingdom. This is his best personal result of the year, surpassing his tied 8th finishes at the PGA Tour RBC Heritage in April and the PGA Championship in May.
Scottie Scheffler of the United States, winner of the PGA Tour Fall Series Procore Championship, firmly held onto the number one spot. Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland), Xander Schauffele, Russell Henley, and Justin Thomas (all from the United States) maintained their positions from second to fifth. BMW PGA Championship winner Alex Noren of Sweden jumped from 32nd to 18th place compared to last week. Among Korean players, Im Sungjae is ranked 33rd, An Byeonghun is 71st, and Kim Joohyung is 86th.
