Jeonnam Vocational High School Students Win 32 Awards at National Commercial Competition

94 Students from 11 Schools Participate
Awards Won in 13 Categories

The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced on September 15 that its students achieved excellent results at the 15th National Commercial Competition, with 32 students winning awards across 13 categories, including two Minister of Education Awards (Grand Prizes).


This competition, held over three days from September 2 to 4 in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, was co-hosted by the Ministry of Education and 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education, and organized by the North Gyeongsang Provincial Office of Education. A total of 1,600 participants competed in 11 contest categories such as accounting, entrepreneurship, office work, e-commerce, finance, and taxation, as well as four quiz categories including the Economics Golden Bell.

The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education fielded 94 students from 11 vocational high schools specializing in commerce, who competed in 11 contest categories and three quiz categories. Among them, students won the Minister of Education Award (Grand Prize) in two categories: Business English and Hotel Food & Beverage Service (Bartending). In total, they earned 32 awards across 13 categories, including three gold, seven silver, and 20 bronze medals.


In particular, Korea Port Logistics High School made a name for itself nationwide as a strong contender in the Business English category, winning gold for two consecutive years and this year seeing second-year student Bang Minhyuk receive the Minister of Education Award. Jinseong Girls’ High School third-year student Kim Eunsu also won the Minister of Education Award in the Hotel Food & Beverage Service (Bartending) category.


The awards by school are as follows: Jinseong Girls’ High School with nine (one Grand Prize, eight bronze), Yeosu Information Science High School with nine (three silver, six bronze), Korea Port Logistics High School with five (one Grand Prize, two gold, two bronze), Naju Commercial High School with five (two silver, three bronze), Suncheon Hyosan High School with two (two bronze), Mokpo Girls’ Commercial High School with one (one silver), and Suncheon Cheongam High School with one (one silver). The 16th National Commercial Competition in 2026 is scheduled to be held in Gwangju, organized by the Gwangju Office of Education.


Kim Youngshin, Director of Education, stated, "I congratulate the Jeonnam students for demonstrating their skills and achieving great results on the national stage," adding, "We will continue to actively support the development of field-oriented commercial talent."
