Six Dong-A University Graduate Students Selected for "Research Incentive Grant Program for Master's and Doctoral Students"

A total of 12 students receive 258 million won in funding over two years
Active research in advanced fields such as AI and computer vision

Six graduate students in the Department of Computer Engineering at Dong-A University (President Lee Haewoo) have been selected for the "2025 Research Incentive Grant Program for Master's and Doctoral Students," organized by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea.

This program provides research funding to master's and doctoral students so they can pursue creative and challenging research projects linked to their degree theses. Last year, six graduate students from Dong-A University were also selected, bringing the total number of recipients to 12 over the past two years.

This year's selected researchers include doctoral student Kim Sunjae (supervisor Jeon Dongsan), master's students Jung Hojin (supervisor Jeon Dongsan), Son Wonseok (supervisors Chun Sejin and An Jungkyu), and Song Hoyoung, Kim Sunghwan, and Jang Taehyun (supervisor Kim Hyunseok), for a total of six students. They are conducting research in advanced fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), image processing, computer vision, data analysis, and reinforcement learning.

Doctoral students receive 50 million won over two years, while master's students receive 12 million won over one year. The cumulative total over the past two years amounts to 258 million won.

Jeon Dongsan, head professor of the Department of Computer Engineering at the graduate school, stated, "The selection of 12 master's and doctoral students for the research incentive grant program over the past two years is the result of the students' outstanding research achievements and the systematic guidance provided by the faculty. We will continue to do our best to nurture research talent with global competitiveness and to train professionals needed by the local community."
