The Health Living Support Center is a facility established to provide health promotion opportunities for local residents in areas with limited access to public healthcare services. This is the third such center in the city, following those in the Gwangmyeong and Soha areas.
The center is equipped with a nutrition education room, exercise education room, fitness testing room, and health education room. It provides a variety of public health services, including chronic disease prevention and management, basic health screenings, and health education.
The center offers ongoing programs such as the "Damoa Health Check," which allows users to receive five types of basic health screenings, including blood pressure and blood sugar tests, in a single visit, and the "Bareun Body Check," which analyzes gait and body posture using smart equipment. Any Gwangmyeong resident can use these services by making a reservation in advance.
Starting from October 13, the center will also offer a range of programs, including the "Mongttang Healthful Class," which integrates health lectures, cooking practice, and exercise education; "Naeson Ttukttak Healthy Table," aimed at promoting healthy eating habits; "Banjjakbanjjak Silver Table"; and "Ttuntun Dream Circuit Training," a personalized program using EGYM automated strength training equipment.
Residents who wish to participate in these educational programs can apply on a first-come, first-served basis from September 22 to 25. Those under 60 can apply online through the Gwangmyeong Lifelong Learning Integrated Platform, "Gwangmyeong e-Ji," while those aged 60 or older can apply in person at the center.
For more information on the program content and the number of participants for each program, residents can visit the Gwangmyeong City Health Center website or contact the center by phone for guidance.
Park Seungwon, Mayor of Gwangmyeong City, stated, "We will strengthen a health management system that prioritizes prevention over treatment, so that citizens can build a foundation to take care of their own health in daily life."
