Anseong City in Gyeonggi Province will hold the 'Anseong Mat-Chum Namsadang Baudeogi Festival' from October 9 to 12 at Anseong Mat-Chum Land and the Anseongcheon area.
The festival will begin with a street parade eve event on October 8, followed by the opening ceremony, official opening, and celebratory performances on the first day, October 9. The opening celebration will feature performances by singer Song Gain, the citizens' choir, and the Anseong Namsadang Baudeogi Pungmul Troupe.
During the festival, various programs will be held, including a traditional performing arts festival, open-air theater, Anseong Arts Festival, a competition for outstanding resident self-governance clubs, Namsadang double tightrope walking performances, and a Baudeogi-themed film festival.
In particular, a Baudeogi Theme Park will be set up at the festival entrance, where visitors can experience tightrope walking and spinning plates firsthand.
The venue will also offer a variety of hands-on programs related to Baudeogi, carbon neutrality and waste separation, agricultural culture, hanbok, and traditional folk games. Visitors can enjoy a wide range of food at the Anseong Market, agricultural and livestock product sales booths, food court, and the barbecue zone for livestock products.
The closing ceremony on October 12 will feature performances by singer An Seonghun, who is an Anseong City ambassador, the resident band Band Nalda from Anseong Mat-Chum Art Hall, and a drone show.
This year, the city plans to present a diverse array of programs by linking the Baudeogi Festival with the '2025 East Asia Cultural City' initiative and the 'Korea Cultural City' project.
