Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation Recruiting Additional Companies for 4.5-Day Workweek Pilot Program

The Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation is accepting additional applications from companies to participate in the "4.5-Day Workweek Pilot Program" until September 30, 2025, aiming to improve work-life balance for workers and enhance productivity by improving working conditions.

This program is a system that allows companies to reduce working hours by choosing one of the following options through labor-management agreements: a 4.5-day workweek, a 35-hour or 36-hour workweek, a biweekly 4-day workweek, or a hybrid model.

The goal is to create a healthy working environment and support sustainable management by enabling flexible reductions in working hours without wage cuts.

Previously, 106 companies and one public institution in the province were selected through the first and second rounds of recruitment and are currently participating in the pilot program.

The Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation provides wage compensation incentives of up to 260,000 won per month per worker (based on a 5-hour reduction per week) to selected companies. In addition, the foundation supports up to 20 million won per company for consulting on work process and workflow improvements, as well as the establishment of attendance management systems.

Yoon Deokryong, CEO of the Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation, said, "Through this additional recruitment, more companies will be able to join the 4.5-day workweek pilot program, enabling both improvements in workers' quality of life and strengthening of corporate competitiveness."
