Tim Cook: "Korea Is a Vibrant Market with Many Creative Customers... We Will Serve Them Even Better"

Interview with popular IT YouTuber ItsSeop
"iPhone 17 Series Satisfies a Variety of Customer Preferences"

Apple CEO Tim Cook appeared on a popular South Korean YouTube channel and said, "We love our Korean customers, and we want to provide the same experience in Korea as we do everywhere else in the world."

Cook appeared in an interview video released on September 13 by the well-known IT YouTuber ItsSeop, stating, "Sometimes we don't succeed, but we never stop and keep challenging ourselves."

Cook said, "I was delighted to introduce Find My in Korea and to open a new Apple Store," adding, "The introduction of Apple Pay was also meaningful, and we will continue to work to bring even more to Korea in the future."

The "Find My" feature mentioned by Cook allows users to track the real-time location of their Apple devices, such as iPhones, iPads, and Macs, and provides alerts in case of device theft. It was not supported in the Korean market until official support began in April. Apple Pay, which had also long been unavailable in Korea, was introduced in March 2023, and in July, Tmoney support was added, launching the transit card function.

He said, "We believe the Korean market is very vibrant. There are many creative people here, and creative people love Apple products. That's why we want to serve our Korean customers even better," he emphasized.

Regarding the design of the new iPhone 17 series, Cook explained, "We have prepared these products to satisfy different types of customers and a variety of tastes. The Air is very thin and light, but it's for those who want both pro-level performance and durability. The Pro and Pro Max are the most professional iPhones we've ever made."

Apple has equipped the iPhone 17 base model with a 120Hz refresh rate and 256GB of base storage, features that were previously only available on Pro models. Cook said, "What matters most is that customers can choose the model that suits them best and feel the greatest satisfaction with their choice. I believe the iPhone 17, Air, and iPhone 17 Pro each appeal to different customers."

The new iPhone series became available for pre-order on September 12 in more than 63 countries and regions, including Korea and the United States. Starting from the official release date on September 19, customers will be able to purchase them at both online and offline stores.
