Sokcho, the Global Capital of Workation, Launches Collaboration Workation with Yanolja
"Yanolja? Sokcho Workation" Runs from September 15 to November 28
Mayor Lee Byeongseon: "We Will Do Our Best to Solidify Sokcho's Reputation as the Global Capital of Workation"
Sokcho City in Gangwon Province, which is moving toward becoming the global capital of workation, will officially launch and operate the new "2025 Yanolja Collaboration, Sokcho Workation (Well-cation)" from September 15 to November 28.
This fall's Sokcho Workation is being newly organized in collaboration with "Yanolja," the nation's leading comprehensive travel and leisure platform, to encourage participation from many workers and companies across the country.
Anyone wishing to apply can visit Yanolja and apply through the Sokcho Workation banner. Applicants will receive a 20,000 won exclusive accommodation discount coupon, and additional discount coupons are available in connection with the Gangwon Visit Year promotion hosted by the Gangwon Tourism Organization.
The city plans to provide consecutive stay coupons to encourage stays of two nights or more, rather than just day trips or one-night stays, thereby increasing both the length of stay and spending in the region and revitalizing the local economy.
Diverse strategies will also be implemented to promote workation. Promotion will be carried out through the Yanolja B2B channel, which is used by over 1,200 companies and approximately 600,000 people, actively encouraging participation by actual company employees. Various channels such as Instagram, KakaoTalk messages, and Aliexpress App push notifications will be used to raise awareness of the region and further solidify its position as the capital of workation.
In addition, Sokcho City will operate its own direct workation program.
The city's direct workation program provides partial support for accommodation and experience content costs. Participants can stay at a total of eight accommodations: Chestertons Sokcho, Ramada Sokcho, Hotel Maremons, Hanwha Resort Seorak Sorano, and the Seorak-dong accommodation complex (Smiley Resort, Mammoth Resortel, HK Resort, Seoraksan Youth Hostel). Each accommodation offers either a two-night, three-day or three-night, four-day weekday program.
There are eight experience content options: Sokcho Power Boat, Yeongrangho Story Bicycle, Jangsa Port Sea Fishing, Sea Surf, Seorak Waterpia, Seorak Cable Car, I'm Not Boulder (climbing), and Bitnalgo (ESG activities). Each participant will receive an experience coupon worth 15,000 won.
Accommodation participation fees range from 50,000 won (Seorak-dong) to 184,000 won. Participants are required to purchase travel insurance, and those with insurance will receive a 10,000 won discount on the participation fee. Applications for the fall Sokcho Workation can be submitted through Naver Form.
Lee Byeongseon, Mayor of Sokcho, said, "Through collaboration with the leading travel platform Yanolja, even more workers and companies from across the country will visit Sokcho. Next year, we plan to establish the optimal workation center where participants can enjoy both work and rest at the same time. We will focus on expanding various infrastructure to ensure that Sokcho solidifies its reputation as the global capital of workation."
