Dongmyung University Soccer Department Partners with Busan Sports Brand to Foster Industry-Ready Talent

The Department of Soccer at Dongmyung University has officially launched the "Soccer Brand Planning and Operation Practice (Co-ing Program)" in partnership with Busan's leading sports brand Paralella.

This program goes beyond the classroom, connecting education with the sports industry, and provides students with hands-on experience in planning and operating a brand, helping them grow into next-generation professionals in the sports industry.

The program is designed so that students can experience every stage of soccer brand planning, marketing, production, and operation firsthand. Currently, ten students from the Department of Soccer are participating and consistently engaging in practical training throughout the semester. The goal is to enhance their on-site adaptability through step-by-step, work-based education rather than simple theoretical classes.

After learning about the company's vision and marketing strategies, the students directly participated in the uniform production process. They experienced every step, from conceptualizing design drafts to producing the actual products, and felt "the moment when knowledge learned in the classroom is realized as an actual product."

Nam Jungwoo, a student from the class of 2024 and the team leader, said, "The fact that the results created with my teammates are directly connected to the sports industry is a huge motivation."

In the future, the program will expand to include writing and operating lesson plans for youth soccer classes, filming and editing educational activity videos, and conducting satisfaction surveys for participating children. It is a convergence-based practicum that encompasses education, media, and research. In particular, the hands-on production of uniforms designed by the students themselves and the creation of promotional content for social media are expected to provide students with the experience of delivering their learning outcomes directly to the industry and consumers.

Jin Daekeun, head of the Department of Soccer, stated, "The core of this program is that students are not just learners, but simultaneously take on the roles of planners, producers, and instructors," adding, "The department will continue to strengthen collaboration with companies and the local community to take the lead in nurturing on-site and convergence-based talent."
