Fireworks and Drone Show Highlighting the Strength of Steel and Pohang’s Future-Oriented City Image
Supporting the Successful Hosting of the APEC Summit with Thorough Order and Safety Management
The "APEC 2025 Summit Commemorative Pohang Fireworks Show," hosted by Pohang City and organized by the Pohang Cultural Foundation, will take place at Yeongildae Beach on September 29.
This event will feature a variety of visually stunning performances, including a fireworks show, a drone show, and a science fiction performance, all themed around "steel"-the core identity and source of strength for Pohang-and highlighting the city's future-oriented and dynamic image.
Yeongildae Beach is a popular destination for both domestic and international visitors, known for its beautiful nightscape, the Yeongildae Pavilion over the sea, and marine leisure facilities. When special events are held, visitors tend to stay longer, further boosting its reputation as a nighttime tourism hotspot.
The city has announced plans to ensure flawless operation of the fireworks show to guarantee the success of the APEC Summit. To maintain order and prevent safety accidents, the city will deploy the maximum possible number of event staff.
Additionally, from September 27 to November 1, during the APEC Summit period, Pohang will host a variety of related festivals and promotional events, such as the Pohang Steel Art Festival, the Marine Food Culture Festival, and the Chimaek Festival, to actively promote Pohang's tourism and industry to both domestic and international visitors.
Pohang City also plans to boost tourism exchange by offering customized cultural and tourism programs, including improved access to the event venue and shuttle bus services. Through festival promotion and participation, the city aims to invigorate the local economy and enhance its brand value.
