"20th Sunchang Jangryu Festival" to Be Held October 17-19
Sunchang County in North Jeolla Province is recruiting local small business owners to participate in the "Companion Festival," which will be held in conjunction with the 20th Sunchang Jangryu Festival from October 17 to 19 for three days.
This year's Jangryu Festival, celebrating its 20th anniversary, has been planned not just as a tourism event but as a festival that will contribute to revitalizing the local economy and increasing income for county residents.
The county aims to create a collaborative festival atmosphere by encouraging the voluntary participation of local small business owners, including restaurants, cafes, and personal service providers, so that both the community and residents can enjoy the event together.
Businesses participating in the "Companion Festival" will offer voluntary discounts to tourists visiting Sunchang during the festival period. This initiative is expected to invigorate the local commercial district while providing visitors with the opportunity to enjoy the region's flavors and culture at reasonable prices. Applications will be accepted until the 19th and can be submitted via email, fax, or by visiting the Culture and Tourism Department at the county office.
A county official stated, "This festival is designed to be led by the residents, providing an opportunity for local merchants and tourists to come together and strengthen the pride of the community." The official added, "We hope that many small business owners will participate in the 'Companion Festival' to promote the charm of Sunchang and achieve tangible income growth."
