Zero Margin of Error in Microbiological Analysis
Coway Environmental Technology Research Institute announced on September 12 that it has achieved the highest score in the field of microbiological analysis in the international proficiency testing (FAPAS) organized by the UK Food and Environment Research Agency, thereby being recognized for its world-class water quality analysis capabilities.
The international proficiency testing is an internationally accredited assessment program that verifies the testing and analytical capabilities of institutions. Participants analyze unknown samples containing substances at specific concentrations and submit their results, which are then evaluated for accuracy based on the calculated margin of error. The closer the margin of error is to '0,' the more accurate the analysis results are, indicating the institution's superior analytical capabilities.
In this evaluation, Coway Environmental Technology Research Institute achieved the highest score by recording an absolute margin of error of '0' in the microbiological field (general bacteria category). This result demonstrates analytical capabilities that are nearly perfect even by international standards. In particular, this evaluation has allowed the institute to maintain its certification as an excellent analytical institution for 18 consecutive years.
Since obtaining its qualification as a drinking water quality inspection institution in 2008, Coway Environmental Technology Research Institute has verified its expertise in water quality analysis through annual international proficiency assessments. In addition, it has secured global certifications such as KOLAS accredited testing laboratory, Water Quality Association TSP Laboratory in the United States, and TUV-SUD official accreditation from the European Union, thereby solidifying its position as a world-class analytical institution.
