The Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced on the 12th that it held a meeting on the 11th in the third-floor conference room with the second group of beneficiary companies of the home appliance industry employment environment improvement support project.
The "Home Appliance Industry Employment Environment Improvement Support Project" discussed at the meeting is part of the "Home Appliance Tomorrow Youth Specialized Support Project," which is being promoted with support from the Ministry of Employment and Labor and Gwangju City. The purpose of the project is to improve the employment environment of home appliance companies to encourage young workers to remain in their jobs and settle in the region.
The employment environment improvement support project consists of the "Safety Work-Up Project," which provides up to 20 million won per company for creating a safe working environment for young workers, and the "Shared Facility Improvement Support Project," which provides up to 10 million won per company for expanding welfare and convenience facilities such as break rooms.
After the first round of recruitment for participating companies from April 21 to May 30 this year, a review committee selected a total of 13 companies. Following the second round of recruitment from July 25 to August 14, an additional 7 companies were selected through a review committee held on the 29th.
About 10 people, including executives and staff from the 7 Gwangju-based home appliance companies selected as the second group of beneficiaries, attended the meeting. The event featured detailed discussions on this year's project, including an introduction to the project's objectives and major related initiatives, listening to on-site difficulties faced by companies, and a Q&A session.
Jeon Eunyoung, Director of the Cooperation Business Division at the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated, "This project is designed to help young workers feel more satisfied and stay longer in our region by improving the working and employment environments at home appliance companies." She added, "We expect that improving the employment environment will make a real contribution to strengthening the competitiveness of local home appliance companies and stabilizing regional employment."
