First in Korea: Medical Data Utilization and Participation of Active Medical Researchers
Advanced Medical Research Using AI Technologies Such as LLM
The Asia Economy Education Center is recruiting trainees for the "Medical and Healthcare Big Data Analysis-Based Medical Research and AI Medical Service Model Development Program" until September 30, 2025.
This program aims to foster experts equipped with innovative advanced medical research and technology capabilities by applying IT technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and big data analysis to the medical industry. The curriculum is focused on practical skills and includes subjects such as: basics of Python and R programming, medical databases and SQL, data visualization (BI), AI modeling (ML/DL/NLP), LLM, RAG, LangChain, and AI projects.
During the project phase, active medical staff and researchers from medical institutions such as Seoul National University Hospital, the National Cancer Center, and university hospitals will participate as mentors, guiding trainees through technologies and methods used in the medical industry and providing a realistic project environment.
Trainees will receive various benefits, including internship connections, support for obtaining certifications, assistance with competition participation, outstanding scholarships, team activity funds, and access to paid software. After completing the program, trainees will also be offered employment support services through internship placements and recruitment recommendations from partner companies.
Notably, in August 2025, some trainees from the second cohort won the grand prize (President's Award) at the KHD (Konyang Health Datathon) held at Konyang University Hospital. They also demonstrated their abilities by achieving recognition at the Healthcare Big Data Startup Competition (finalist) and the Ministry of Employment and Labor's K-Digital Training Hackathon (President's Award).
An official from the Asia Economy Education Center stated, "Through education in advanced industries such as AI, big data, and robotics, we will actively support trainees to strengthen their practical skills in a short period and enhance their competitiveness through competitions and certification acquisition." The program is completely free of charge, and detailed information on applications and the curriculum can be found on the Asia Economy Education Center website.
