Samsung Life Insurance is set to acquire a stake in the European private equity fund (PEF) operator Hayfin Capital Management.
According to the insurance industry and other sources on September 11, Samsung Life Insurance is in negotiations to acquire a portion of Hayfin's shares, which are valued at approximately 34 billion euros (about 55 trillion won). The exact size of the stake has not been disclosed. This move is seen as an effort to expand overseas alternative investment returns through investments in global asset management companies.
