The United States Forces Korea Combined Forces Command announced on the 11th that it held an inauguration and welcome ceremony for the new Deputy Commander, Kim Sungmin, at Camp Humphreys, presided over by Commander Xavier Brunson.
Commander Brunson welcomed Deputy Commander Kim, stating, "Deputy Commander Kim is joining a command that is disciplined, united, and well-prepared."
In his inaugural address, Deputy Commander Kim stated, "At this crucial transitional moment, I am committed to fulfilling my duties to further strengthen the ROK-US alliance."
Deputy Commander Kim was commissioned as a member of the 48th class of the Korea Military Academy and has previously served as the commander of the 5th Corps, Director General for Policy Planning at the Ministry of National Defense, Head of the OPCON Transition Task Force at the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Deputy Director for Strategic Planning, and Chief of Staff of the 3rd Corps.
