LG Energy Solution has issued its first official apology regarding the large-scale detention incident at its battery factory construction site in Georgia, United States. The company announced plans to comprehensively strengthen its overseas site management system to prevent recurrence and to provide full support for the return, medical treatment, and stabilization of all released individuals.


In a statement released on the 11th, LG Energy Solution said, "We sincerely apologize for the concern caused to our members, partners, and their families," and added, "We deeply appreciate the full support provided by the Korean government and all those involved to ensure the safe release of the detainees." The company continued, "We are especially grateful for the unusually swift release measures and the careful consideration to prevent any disadvantages upon re-entry," and stated, "We deeply empathize with the hardships experienced by those affected by this incident."

The company stated that it would thoroughly manage all follow-up procedures to ensure that the released individuals can return home safely and recover their health. For their return, chartered flights will be arranged, with first and business class seats prioritized for those in deteriorated health, and some seats designated as 'intensive care seats.' All returning individuals will be provided with business class-level amenities and medical supplies. Additionally, vehicles and dedicated personnel will be assigned to support the entire process until they return home. For foreign workers, accommodations and airfare for returning to their home countries will be fully provided.


LG Energy Solution announced, "We will do our utmost to ensure their safe arrival in Korea and spare no effort to provide all necessary support so that they can quickly regain stability and recover their health." The company added, "Taking this incident as an opportunity, we will further strengthen our management system to proactively prevent and respond swiftly to any issues that may arise at overseas business sites," and emphasized, "We will also work to minimize any business impact."
